Ever get tired of buying the fresh heads of garlic only to throw away half of it? Never let this happen to you again. Fresh garlic can be used in just about any recipe to add some extra flavor and wonderful aroma. Stores sell “fresh” minced garlic in jars which is a great product but [...]

Located at G/F 12 Pak Sha Rd Causeway Bay HK is a great Japanese Sushi Bar.
When you walk in you have the choice of sitting at the “bar” or at table. I suggest the bar because you are able to have the entertainment of the chefs creating the dishes right before your very eyes. The [...]

This weekend I traveled to the south side of Hong Kong Island to Stanley Plaza where my family and I ate lunch, took some pictures, ate some gelato, took some more pictures, and went home. A very fulfilling day indeed.
This area of the island was a nice escape from the everyday hustle and bustle of central [...]

Last night, at the request of my step mother, I made alfredo. She loves cream sauces and my alfredo happens to be quite good.
I started by pan frying 4 garlic chicken sausages, removed them from the pan and added two heads of finely diced garlic. While that was sauteing away I sliced the sausages and [...]

When scurrying through the seafood section at 360 (a local grocery store) I stumbled across a great looking fillet of Orange Ruffie. I had never cooked one of these before and it was cheaper than salmon so I was all over it. I decided to play it safe, not knowing the flavor of this fish, [...]

Last night I had my first taste of durian (stinky fruit) in the form of ice cream. Durians are known for their spiked husks and strong odored, edible flesh. When walking through the grocery stores here in Hong Kong, you definitely know when durian is around, the sent is recognizable even through a closed husk.
My [...]

I was shopping in the Wan Chai district of Hong Kong looking for computer parts when I was suddenly struck with hunger pains so I went hunting for food. I decided to try one of the small restaurants down an alley way instead of something safe like CPK (California Pizza Kitchen) located in the mall. [...]
